Supplemental Coach Chat Terms.

Effective date: May 24, 2026 · Last updated: May 24, 2026

These supplemental terms apply to your use of the Riturn Coach (“Coach”), the AI chat feature inside the Riturn app. They supplement — and do not replace — Riturn's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By using the Coach, you agree to all three.

1. The Coach is an AI tool, not a person

The Riturn Coach is powered by a large language model (Anthropic's Claude). It generates responses based on patterns in its training data and a behavior contract that Riturn maintains. It does not have feelings, clinical training, or independent judgment. Every response is machine-generated.

2. Beta status

Riturn is currently in a pre-launch beta. The Coach is still evolving — its behavior, capabilities, and guardrails are actively being refined. Responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent. We improve the Coach regularly, but we cannot guarantee accuracy at any point.

3. This is not medical advice

The Coach does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Specifically, the Coach will never:

  • Diagnose any condition or disease.
  • Prescribe or recommend a treatment plan.
  • Advise on medications, dosages, or whether to start, stop, or change a prescription.
  • Assess potential drug-herb or drug-supplement interactions.
  • Replace the judgment of a doctor, therapist, or licensed practitioner.

If you have a medical question, consult your doctor. If you want guidance on Ayurvedic herbs, formulations, or interactions, work with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. The Coach will tell you the same thing.

4. How the Coach behaves

The Coach operates under a written behavior contract that defines what it can discuss, what it must refuse, and how it handles edge cases. In short:

  • It answers questions about your daily ritual, Ayurvedic concepts, and your check-in patterns.
  • When a question touches a clinical boundary — diagnosis, medication, treatment — it refuses clearly, explains why, and routes you to the appropriate professional.
  • It will never frame Ayurveda as a cure, replacement for medical care, or guaranteed outcome.
  • Its authority is classical Ayurveda as a lifestyle and self-care framework — not as clinical medicine.

We call this the “refuse, educate, route” pattern. The Coach declines the request, explains the boundary, and points you toward someone qualified to help.

5. Coach memory

To provide more relevant responses, the Coach may reference context from prior conversations. This includes:

  • Topic tags— broad, non-clinical labels (e.g., “sleep,” “digestion,” “movement”) extracted from past exchanges.
  • Plan patterns— aggregated data about which rituals you've completed, skipped, or reflected on over the past 30 days.
  • Refusal context — a record that the Coach previously declined a certain type of question, so it can check in appropriately without resurfacing sensitive details.

Coach memory operates within strict guardrails. The Coach cannot reconstruct full conversation transcripts, and its memory does not cross between users. You can view and delete your Coach memory at any time in the app under Settings → Coach Memory. You can also delete all messages from a specific conversation using the chat history sidebar.

6. Crisis situations

The Coach is not a crisis resource. If you express thoughts of self-harm or suicide, the Coach will immediately direct you to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the US) or the equivalent resource in your region. It will not attempt to counsel you through a crisis.

If you are in immediate danger, please call emergency services (911 in the US) or go to your nearest emergency room.

7. Use at your own risk

The Coach is provided “as is” and “as available.” Riturn LLC makes no warranties — express or implied — regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any Coach response. You use the Coach at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Riturn LLC shall not be liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your use of, or reliance on, any Coach response.

Note: Counsel will refine the limitation-of-liability language during their review pass. This is interim copy.

8. Updates to these terms

Riturn may revise these supplemental terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Coach after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Acceptance

By using the Coach, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these supplemental terms, in addition to Riturn's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
